Day 11 - Vama Veche to Pitesti

Mileage from home: 2735
After several beers and other drinks with some very interesting characters - watching the sun go down over the Black Sea, it was time to hit the sack and look forward to the interesting first part of the next day's journey back home - initially taking in some of the more interesting roads suggested by my new Romanian biker friend. We took the backroads from Constanta to Adamclisi and then on to the Bulgarian border at Silistra.
Lovely roads and views - very different scenery to what we have previously seen in Romania. We ended-up having to do a detour near the border due to the flooding and actually ended-up in Bulgaria whilst trying to find the ferry across the river. Lovely bit of riding with great flowing roads and scenery like in Southern France.
First problem of the day was a massive hangover so I had a bit of a late start and couldn't get up for a while. On reflection I drank more than I thought and didn't go to bed until about 3am.... It was a great evening though. Still feeling rough now. Second problem - we both got pretty sunburnt yesterday. My legs and neck are bright red!
Anyway, after the nice roads and ferry, we hit the motorway and just kept going until it finished which is where we are now. In a very posh mafia hotel. Amazing €20 each with breakfast. I think tomorrow will be our last night in Romania. Think it'll mostly be motorways soon.....
